Cesc Fabregas may not be what AC Milan want, after all. The Spaniard has been on the Italian club’s radar for quite a few months now, but the new ownership’s ambitious plans are starting to aim higher.
La Repubblica has an article today saying that both Cesc Fabregas and Isco are considered to be targets for the Italian side. However, they’re not good enough to convince the Chinese bosses.
Milan’s intention is to spend heavily during the winter market. The amount probably won’t reach the €100m which was mentioned before, but the figures would still be very high.
The big problem for the Chinese owners is that it’s hard to convince a top player to join a club who aren’t even playing in the Europa League this year. Especially because their main targets would apparently be among the top 20 players in the world
That’s why Fabregas and Isco are still an option, but not as protagonists as they were once considered before.
In reality, if Milan could get either player in January it would be a huge coup and they’d have a lot of convincing to do.
