Memphis Depay has ended up becoming one of Juventus’ main targets in the final stretch of the summer window. With the player about to free himself from Barcelona, the Old Lady see a great opportunity of a free signing.
Even though the Bianconeri are still confident about his incorporation, there’s a little warning from the local media regarding Chelsea’s interest in the Dutchman.
Tuttosport today features a few quotes from their journalist Fabio Riva, who claims that Depay is currently sorting out the final details of his break-up with Barcelona as he has a Juve contract waiting for him.
Riva, however, claims that the Old Lady must be aware of Chelsea’s threat.
“The parties are close, but the intervention of Chelsea must be recorded. Therefore, in Turin they have to be timely and not let the Dutch forward be ‘fooled’, who would already be useful on Monday against Sampdoria.”
Depay is said to be working with Barcelona regarding pending ‘bonuses and last salaries’, then he’ll be a free agent and able to sign for whoever he wants. According to Tuttosport, Juventus’ offer is a two-year contract, where he’d make €6m per season plus bonuses.
Those are conditions Chelsea should have in mind if they move to snatch the player.
