Aurélien Tchouaméni’s fine displays for AS Monaco have not only helped him debut for France last September, but also resulted in interest from clubs across Europe.

Chelsea are one of them and more than a month ago, Marca reported that Thomas Tuchel wants the midfielder at Stamford Bridge ‘at all costs’.

The Blues’ interest is again discussed in today’s edition of Sport. The report focuses on Barcelona, who have followed the player ‘very, very closely’ for the last two years.

Xavi Hernández’s side view the Ligue 1 star as an ‘ideal substitute’ for Sergio Busquets.  However, his signing is ‘practically ruled out’ since the La Liga side’s focus is to strengthen other areas.

Therefore, he is the ‘impossible dream’ for the Blaugrana. This is also applicable to Real Madrid, who have put the handbrake on.

If Tchouaméni doesn’t leave Monaco after this season, then Sport state Barcelona will move for him in 2023.

They are aware he would favour a move to Spain over England, where Chelsea are in the picture to sign the player.

With Tuchel keen to have the Monaco star ‘at all costs’ at the west London club, Sport now state Chelsea have already made contact with him.

However, Tchouaméni has not made a decision yet on his future.
