Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny has ended up on Chelsea’s transfer agenda for the summer window, according to a report from Italy.
The Poland international has been the first-choice stopper for the Serie A side for the past few years and has a deal expiring in 2025.
Szczęsny has kept 15 clean sheets and conceded 25 goals from 32 league games for Juve this season and his impressive performances haven’t gone unnoticed.
According to Tutto Juve, Chelsea are looking for a top-quality goalkeeper next season and have included the 34-year-old’s name in their target list.
He knows the Premier League well as he spent more than a decade at Arsenal between 2006 and 2017, making 181 appearances for the Gunners.
The Blues could bring Szczęsny back to London and would be encouraged to know that the Old Lady have opened the door for his transfer.
It’s claimed that is Juve were to receive an offer of at least €10m, then they ‘would say yes’ to selling the Pole in the next window. This would allow them to lower their wage bill and also invest the fee in signing Monza’s Michele Di Gregorio, who is valued at €20m.
For now, Chelsea are considering Szczęsny and are told about the conditions needed to sign him.
Robert Sánchez, who has been the first-choice goalkeeper, has struggled with injuries in recent months and Đorđe Petrović has been used in his absence at Chelsea.
