Late last week, it was revealed that a number of teams were trying to sign Kurt Zouma from Chelsea, as the French defender could be leaving Stamford Bridge in the foreseeable future.
Tottenham and Everton were reportedly among them, as was José Mourinho’s AS Roma, with it being no secret that the Portuguese manager is a big fan of the centre-back.
However, Chelsea aren’t making it easy for player and manager to reunite, as Loic Tanzi, for RMC Sport, reported on Twitter that while the Serie A side ‘would like to bring him in on loan’, the Blues ‘don’t want to loan him for now’.
Instead, they are hoping to cash in on the Frenchman, and are asking for ‘more than €30m’ to get a deal done.
L’AS Rome aimerait recruter Kurt Zouma (Chelsea) en prêt. José Mourinho aime beaucoup le défenseur français mais le club londonien ne souhaite pas prêter l’ancien joueur de Saint-Etienne pour l’instant et demande plus de 30 millions d’euros pour le libérer #Mercato #RMCLive

That’s a lot of money for a team with far from ideal finances such as Roma, making it somewhat obvious they are targeting Premier League clubs with that asking price.
We’ll have to see if any takers come forward, but, for now, it seems the Italians will have to be patient.
