James Rodriguez’s agent Jorge Mendes doesn’t believe the player will be going anywhere during the January transfer window.
James recently made comments which suggested he’d consider his Real Madrid future ahead of the January transfer window, with Zinedine Zidane not giving the Colombian a prominent role within the squad.
Spanish newspaper AS say several clubs have made attempts to sign James, and Chelsea are named as one of those.
Antonio Conte’s side have been linked for a while, and the sale of Oscar, and huge fee received for the Brazilian, has only encouraged the reports.
Using the Oscar money to buy James could be a very exciting option for Conte and Chelsea, but AS say Real Madrid are looking for €80m for the player.
That sounds unrealistic given that he’s not a prominent player for the club, but after seeing Chelsea get so much for Oscar, that may only strengthen Real Madrid’s resolve.
