Manchester City’s interest in young Colombian defender Yerry Mina is nothing new to the transfer rumour mill.

Barcelona reportedly have the option to sign the Palmeiras defender until 2019, but Pep Guardiola is, according to the claims, keen to snatch him for Manchester City instead.

According to a latest report from Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, Manchester City are most insistent on signing Mina, and are even ready to make a big investment on him.

However, Mina is tempted by the prospect of signing for Barcelona, and the Brazilian club are also in no rush to sell him. Mundo Deportivo say Palmeiras will try to keep Mina at the club, as long as Barcelona don’t try to sign him.

However, it’d be interesting to see if Mina and Palmeiras would be willing to wait too long for Barcelona, as the player is reportedly on the wish-list of several top European clubs.

Manchester City have good relations with Palmeiras, following the transfer of Gabriel Jesus, and may choose to use those avenues of contact to sign Mina.
