The Brazilian media today highlights Chelsea’s interest in Athletico Paranaense goalkeeper Bento.
Earlier this week, following Brazil’s friendlies against England and Spain, the English media had already claimed that the player caught the Blues’ attention.
Now UOL columnist Rafael Reis backs up that information, claiming that Bento is now in Chelsea’s ‘list of reinforcements’ for the summer.
The story claims that the Blues now join Benfica and Inter Milan in the race for the goalkeeper, as they’ve been monitoring him for a while.
With such interest from European clubs, Athletico know that the player’s market value is going up, and according to UOL, are expecting to make a sale worth around €20m.
Earlier this week, reports from the Brazilian media also claimed that Nottingham Forest and Wolverhampton Wanderers are interested in Bento, so Chelsea could be seeing some competition from the Premier League.
The 24-year-old drew many eyes when making his debut for Brazil in this international break, so it shall be no surprise if those clubs now start watching him featuring for Athletico as well.
