As Barcelona continue to be engaged in the pursuit for a midfielder, Liverpool’s Thiago Alcântara and Tottenham Hotspur’s Giovani Lo Celso are today back to getting linked to the Camp Nou side.
It’s Cadena Cope journalist Victor Navarro who shares some information on that chase today. He claims that even though Bernardo Silva is not ruled out by the La Liga giants, there are actually other alternatives in the market.
The report claims that taking Thiago Alcântara from Liverpool or Lo Celso from Tottenham would actually be the ‘cheapest options’ Barcelona would find in the transfer window.
There’s no information on how much each of those players would cost, even though their situations at their clubs certainly make them affordable alternatives for the Catalan club.
On Thursday, journalist Sacha Tavolieri claimed Thiago Alcântara’s move to Camp Nou is a ‘concrete possibility’. The player has been struggling with injuries at Liverpool and is set to look for an alternative this summer.
Meanwhile, this week, reports from the Spanish media said Barcelona could go after Lo Celso by using him as an exchange when sending Clement Lenglet to Tottenham.
