Earlier on Friday, we covered a story from Goal Italia looking at the situation of Dejan Kulusevski, currently on loan from Juventus at Tottenham.
The Sweden international arrived in January of last year on an 18-month deal, with an option to buy of €35m that would become permanent if he made 50% of games this season and Spurs qualified for the Champions League. With the former already done, it all relied on the latter, but with the poor run of results Tottenham have had over the past few weeks, that looks incredibly unlikely.
Therefore, the decision will be one the new manager will have to make, with the possibility of Kulusevski returning to Juventus now a real one, and Juve News decided to have a chat with Panagiotis Louka, who knows the Tottenham player very well from their time together at Atalanta, to talk about Kulusevski.
Now contracted to AEL Limassol, the 22-year-old forward sat down with the outlet to discuss his best friend.
He said: “We spoke a week before Conte left and he revealed to me that the problem wasn’t the manager. The team must change its attitude, a change is needed.”
About him staying at Tottenham, he said: “€35m is a lot, it’s up to Tottenham to decide. He’s young and helped the team a lot, doing what he’s done at 23 isn’t for everyone. If he returns to Juventus instead, it will be a whole other story. He didn’t tell me anything, it’s too early to think about it. It will take time to figure out what to do.
“If important players like Kane were to leave Tottenham, the situation would change. Same thing at Juventus: if Di Maria doesn’t renew, there would be more room for Dejan. He’d be happy with Allegri. Compared to his first experience at Juve, he’s now much more sure of himself. He’s grown a lot at Tottenham.”
