Last month, we covered claims from Belgium that Manchester United’s Christian Eriksen is a dream target for Anderlecht.
Last Wednesday, Het Belang van Limburg reported the Belgian club have held talks with the Red Devils and Eriksen’s camp.
Saturday’s edition of Het Belang van Limburg brings the latest on Anderlecht’s efforts to sign the Manchester United player.
HBVL say Anderlecht CEO Jesper Fredberg wants to make a ‘persistent attempt’ to sign the Denmark international.
The window in the Netherlands is open until Monday, where Eriksen’s former club, Ajax are interested to sign him. The Eredivisie side have a limited budget and may not be able to bring the 32-year-old back to the club.
This gives Anderlecht an easy route to take him away from Manchester United. If they want to secure his services, HBVL say it ‘will probably happen only on September 3rd or 4th’. The latter is the last date to submit the squad for the European competition.
Erik ten Hag left Eriksen on the bench in the Community Shield defeat to Manchester City and in the two league games this season. A move to Anderlecht could see him enjoy more game time this season.
