Celtic are in the market for a new goalkeeper and claims from Turkey are stating Brendan Rodgers’ side have identified Manchester United’s Altay Bayındır as a target.
Joe Hart retired at the end of the season and a few stoppers have already been linked with a move to Celtic.
Celtic have included the Manchester United goalkeeper in their list if a report from Akşam is to be believed.
The Turkey international has made one appearance for Manchester United since joining them from Fenerbahçe last summer.
It’s explained that the 26-year-old’s time at Old Trafford is ‘coming to an end’ because he didn’t find ‘what he was looking for’ this season. Therefore, the goalkeeper is ‘preparing to leave’ Manchester United.
According to Akşam, Bayındır will move to Scotland where Celtic could open their door for him in the summer window.
They state Brendan Rodgers’ side are ‘preparing to add’ the Manchester United player to their squad next season. Celtic’s plan is to offer Bayındır a four-year deal, indicating that they are aiming to buy him from Manchester United.
It’s to be noted that Akşam’s claim on Celtic isn’t backed up by other outlets in Turkey so far.
