Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is set to be without Nicolas Kühn next season.
On Thursday, journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reported Como have agreed to pay Celtic €16.5m for the winger. He didn’t mention anything about the latter agreeing personal terms with the Serie A club.
Sky Deutschland also reports the Celtic player is about to move to the Italian club.
They add the two teams reached an agreement on Thursday afternoon for a fee of €20m, which is €3.5m more than what was reported by Di Marzio.
The German forward will sign a contract until 2029, indicating he has sorted out his personal terms with Como.
RB Leipzig have also shown interest in the 25-year-old this summer, but the report states he turned down their offer because he is ‘desperate’ to move to Como. His medical test with the Italian club is scheduled for next week.
Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share more details.
He states the Celtic attacker turned down Leipzig on Thursday and Cesc Fàbregas would have played a key role in this. Plettenberg explains the Como manager is very keen and called Kühn several times to convince him. Fàbregas plans to use him in his preferred position on the right wing.
Kühn ‘will fly to Como for his medical on Monday or Tuesday.’ Once the Celtic man clears these examinations, he’ll sign a contract until 2029, without a release clause.
