Celtic are interested in Brondby striker Mathias Kvistgaarden, with the 23-year-old expected to move on this summer.

That’s according to Foot Mercato, who report that Kvistgaarden could be the latest Danish striker to make the move to European football.

They say that the striker could well be the next ‘Danish serial goalscorer’ in vogue, with the youngster impressing this season, with 22 goals and five assists in 33 games in all competitions to date.

The latest of those goals was a brace last weekend in the Danish Cup semi-final first leg against Silkeborg.

His performances have been noticed beyond Denmark’s borders and several clubs are on the lookout for him.

Foot Mercato, alongside Tipsbladet, report that Celtic are one of them. They also name Eintracht Frankfurt as a potential destination.

Both sides are believed to be ‘interested in the player’s profile’. They describe him as a fast, technical striker with an excellent eye for goal and ‘significant room’ for further improvement.

His price tag is also enticing, with Brondby hoping for around €13m for their ‘formidable striker’. That’s a price the likes of Celtic would be able to afford and would presumably be no problem for Frankfurt either, particularly if they sell the likes of Hugo Ekitike this summer.
