Jose Mourinho being appointed as AS Roma manager has dominated the Italian sport media this week. There’s been endless reports relating to what the Portuguese coach will do on his return to Serie A, and a never ending line of people have been asked their opinion on the appointment.

That includes Carlo Ancelotti, with the Everton manager deemed to be very relevant because of his history with Roma and perceived good relationship with Mourinho and insight on his methods.

Corriere dello Sport have been speaking to the Toffees boss and whilst the majority of the conversation was about what’s happening in Rome, there was also a part which touched on Everton.

The Premier League side have been repeatedly linked with Serie A players since Ancelotti took over, with the latest being rumours about Juventus’ Wojciech Szczęsny this week.

Asked directly about signing the former Arsenal goalkeeper, Ancelotti dismissed the idea, quoted as saying: “I have the goalkeeper, it’s Pickford. Now I think only of West Ham: if we beat it on Sunday we return to Europe, if we lose we are out.”

That should be the end of that one.
