It was reported a few days ago that Burnley FC had reached an agreement with Westerlo for the transfer of Lyle Foster.
Then it all went a bit quiet, but the Clarets were seemingly just getting the final details sorted, because they are on the verge of announcing the transfer.
That’s according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, who takes to Twitter to announce the transfer is a ‘done deal’, and that Burnley will make the move official ‘in the coming hour’.
The South Africa international will be joining Vincent Kompany at Turf Moor for a fee of €7m that will rise to €10m in case the Clarets get promoted, which almost looks like a certainty these days.
The player ‘has signed’ a four and a half year contract with Burnley, and appears to be in the club’s long-term plans for both the rest of the Championship and next year’s potential attempt at staying in the Premier League.
