Burnley have seen an €8m bid for Millwall star Zian Flemming rejected by the club as they kickstart their summer recruitment drive.
That’s according to Voetbal International, who say the player is a ‘fervent wish’ of Burnley manager Vincent Kompany.
The newspaper reports that Kompany is a big fan of the Millwall star, who managed 15 goals and three assists in the Championship last season following a €2.5m move from Fortuna Sittard.
Burnley are willing to hand Millwall a big profit on that figure and have offered them €8m to do a deal this summer but the Lions are yet to cooperate.
The two clubs will ‘continue to talk’ to each other over a transfer, particularly as Flemming has made it clear that he would like to play in the Premier League at some point.
Burnley can offer that to him after promotion this season but seemingly need to up their offer if they are to get Kompany the man he wants.
