Burnley’s Ameen Al-Dakhil has risen in stature over the past two seasons.

He played 13 times in the Premier League in the 2023/24 campaign, having previously featured in the Championship.

The 22-year-old Baghdad-born centre-back could now be on his way out of Turf Moor.

BILD Stuttgart have reported on VFB Stuttgart’s interest in the Belgium international, who is a ‘hot candidate’ on the Bundesliga club’s shortlist right now.

Stuttgart want to sign a new centre-back and Al-Dakhil is seen as a potential replacement for Waldemar Anton, who has joined Borussia Dortmund.

Burnley value Al-Dakhil at €12m and the German club have held initial talks already.

The player is tempted by the move and the next step would be for Burnley and Stuttgart to find an agreement.

Die Roten don’t have ‘unlimited’ resources for Al-Dakhil but their initial target was Sevilla’s Loic Bade, whose valuation seems to be out of reach and that has made the Belgian an important target.
