Burnley fullback Vitinho has drawn interest from Premier League sides, according to claims form his home country.
Brazilian out IG writes that following the player’s season with the Clarets in the Championship, the 23-year-old is in the sights of clubs from the top flight.
The report claims there have already been approaches from Premier League sides, but those are not named, and there’s no information on whether they’re preparing bids to sign Vitinho from Burnley.
What is made clear is that the Clarets actually have no intention of negotiating the player’s exit. It’s pointed out that the fullback is ‘one of the main pieces’ in Vincent Kompany’s side, and they would like to keep him to play in the Premier League next season.
It was Kompany himself who requested Vitinho’s signing from Belgian side Cercle Brugge last summer. The Brazilian moved for a fee of only €1m, and had 39 appearances for the club this season.
The right-back has a contract with Burnley running until 2026, and is now valued by Transfermarkt at €2m. Now let’s wait and see if other English clubs will actually come for his signing this summer.
