On Thursday, stories about Burnley FC raiding the Belgium market continued, as it was claimed they were trying to get Lyle Foster.
The Westerlo striker appears to be an important target for Vincent Kompany, who wants to add the South Africa international to his squad in January.
It was said that Burnley were in advanced talks to get a deal over the line for around €7m, but it appears the Belgian side want a fair bit more than that.
A new update from Sacha Tavolieri on Friday explains that the Clarets saw their last bid of €7.5m ‘refused’ by Westerlo, who are ‘waiting for a big sale’.
🔴🇿🇦 I understand #BurnleyFC saw his last 7.5M€ offer refused by #Westerlo for Lyle #Foster. Belgian club (who’s waiting for a big sale…) wants 10M€, a price the Clarets won’t accept. Talks ongoing as #Kompany wants him. #Foster already accept personal terms. #twitterclarets https://t.co/AgmnGm8SN6

In fact, they’ve now set a price, and the demands to let their star go midway through the campaign is €10m.
That’s a figure Burnley ‘won’t accept’, but that doesn’t mean they have given up either, because ‘Kompany wants him’.
Down the player’s end, it’s made clear that Foster has ‘already accepted personal terms’, meaning that part of the deal appears fairly straightforward if the two clubs can reach an agreement on a fee.
