Burnley and Fulham are targeting a move for FC Union defender Josip Juranovic in the summer transfer window. The defender left Celtic for Germany in 2023 and could now be heading back to the UK.
That’s according to BILD, who report that the 29-year-old is on the list of targets for Burnley and Fulham in particular.
They explain that after reports in England had named both clubs as suitors, as well as Leeds and West Ham, their information is that Burnley and Fulham are the ones who ‘in particular’ have set their sights on the former Celtic full-back.
According to that information, Fulham have had the defender on their radar for several years, so it sound like they watched him for Celtic, and Burnley are specifically looking for experienced players after securing promotion back to the Premier League.
Union Berlin are yet to receive an enquiry for their man but there is every chance that could change in the coming weeks. A departure would be a painful one for them as Juranovic has fought his way back into contention this season.
He is believed to be happy with the Köpenick club, but the Premier League is considered a tempting, ‘ultimate goal’ for most players. He’s also familiar with the UK having played in Scotland with Celtic.
His current contract runs until 2027 Union don’t have to sell if they don’t want to, and any deal is likely to be in the €4m range.
