Milot Rashica arrived at Werder Bremen from Vitesse in 2018 and impressed in his debut season in the Bundesliga with nine goals and five assists in 26 appearances.
According to Calciomercato, the Kosovo international is liked in the Premier League and Watford gets a mention.
In a short update, the Italian website claims the 23-year-old is a transfer ‘goal’ for the Hornets, but doesn’t suggest if Quique Sánchez Flores would convert their interest into an approach in the next window.
Rashica’s current deal with the German side runs down in 2022 and Werder CEO Frank Baumann admitted the talks over a new deal are currently on hold.
He said: “There is the possibility to adapt the contract, but there is still no new date.”
Bild explains it’s because of the release clause that needs to be included in a new deal.
The player’s representative Altin Lala wants Werder to insert a lower buyout clause, while Baumann wants a higher figure.
The attacking midfielder has extended his impressive form this term, managing two goals and an assist in three appearances so far.
