AS Saint-Étienne are set to sign Brighton & Hove Albion’s Joshua Duffus this summer.
That’s according to Peuple Vert, a website focusing on the French club, and they make it clear it’s their own information. Their title says Saint-Étienne ‘finalise the arrival’ of the 20-year-old.
Within the report, it’s claimed the Ligue 2 side are close to securing the Brighton player’s services and he’s expected to join them in the coming days.
Ibrahim Sissoko and Ibrahima Wadji have left Saint-Étienne while Djylian N’Guessan and Lucas Stassin are struggling with injuries. Therefore, they are focusing on strengthening their attack and have identified Duffus as the main target.
It’s claimed striker, who attracted interest from Eintracht Frankfurt and Bayer Leverkusen, is ‘about to sign’ for Saint-Étienne. His signing is expected to be sealed in the ‘coming hours’ and if not, in the next few days.
Peuple Vert adds several sources have stated the Englishman has been spotted in L’Étrat [very close to Saint-Étienne] in recent days. He’s likely in France to complete a move to the second division French club.
The outlet hasn’t specified whether Saint-Étienne will sign Duffus on a loan or permanent transfer.
Duffus is a product of the Seagulls’ academy and has made one appearance for their senior team so far.
