Brighton and Hove Albion are yet to make a formal offer for Colombian goalkeeper Kevin Mier, despite keeping a close eye on his performances.
That’s according to journalist Carlos Córdova, who has insisted to Win Sports that there is nothing formal in the pipeline despite a longstanding interest in the player.
Brighton have been linked with a potential move for Mier since the January transfer window, when several reports had him on their radar.
The Seagulls have become adept at scooping up talent from around the world, particularly in South America, and it was suggested Mier could be the latest addition on that front.
A move never happened then but it had been suggested that they could revive their interest this summer as they continue to build for the future.
That’s yet to happen, with Fabian Hürzeler and co spending their money to strengthen other parts of the team and seemingly happy with their goalkeeping options of Jason Steele and Bart Verbruggen.
Córdova can’t see a revival of any interest at this point either, insisting Brighton have never gone formal when it comes to signing Mier.
“He (Kevin Mier) is calm, he is happy,” he said.
“When Brighton became interested, it was more of a representative situation, there have been people from the English club watching him, but they have never approached to make an offer, that has not happened.”
