Brighton & Hove Albion were one of the clubs who tried and failed to sign Sassuolo’s Davide Frattesi in January. The Seagulls haven’t given up on the possibility of making another approach for him in the summer.
Last week, Calciomercato reported the Premier League side have ‘taken their first steps’ to land the midfielder. It was also explained they could face competition from AS Roma and Juventus.
This is again backed up by a fresh report from Tutto Juve, who also provide an update on Brighton’s plan to carry out the operation.
It’s explained Roberto De Zerbi’s side are ready to ‘burn the Italian competition’ to sign Frattesi in the next window.
They would be ‘ready to spend’ €40m to acquire the 23-year-old’s services so that they can beat any type of competition they will face from Roma, Juve or another club.
De Zerbi managed the Italy international when he was at Sassuolo. The coach has already told the Brighton chiefs about his desire to reunite with his former player at The Amex.
Frattesi has six goals from 32 league games this season.
