Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper Robert Sánchez faces an uncertain future after losing his place in the starting lineup to Jason Steele in March. The Spaniard was even left out of the squad for the last four league games.
Roberto De Zerbi has insisted it’s up to the Seagulls and Sánchez to sort out his situation but hasn’t assured him of regular game time next season.
Faced with the possibility of losing Sánchez in the summer, Brighton seem to have identified a potential replacement. That’s according to Berliner Kurier, who state Hertha BSC goalkeeper Oliver Christensen has been identified as the target.
After the 1-1 draw against VfL Bochum, the 24-year-old has ‘already indicated’ he could leave the Bundesliga side after this season by saying: “It’s difficult for me to leave now, but it’s not just my decision”.
It’s claimed De Zerbi’s side ‘want to sign’ and Hertha hope ‘that would bring at least a €4.5m transfer fee’.
The report adds Christensen, who has has conceded 68 goals from 33 league games this season, is ready to make the jump to England.
