Ansu Fati wants to finish the season on a bright note at Brighton & Hove Albion, where he’s been on loan since last summer.
The winger has managed four goals and an assist from 26 games, and Sport state his progression at The Amex was cut short by a calf injury last November.
It forced the Brighton man to spend over two months on the sidelines before returning to the pitch in February.
Roberto De Zerbi’s plan for the 21-year-old was going smoothly until he picked up an injury. The Seagulls manager is said to have full faith in him and considers the ‘mission is unfulfilled’ with the loanee.
Fati initially started as a substitute at the Premier League side before gaining prominence last October. This was part of the plan that was already laid out by De Zerbi, when he talked the player into joining Brighton.
For the Italian, the Barca owned player is a ‘sleeping giant’ and he’s determined to ‘wake him up’. There’s no sufficient time this season and therefore, Sport state Brighton will try to bring Fati back on another loan deal.
Despite the injury hindering De Zerbi’s plan, the manager is convinced Fati will ‘explode’ under his command.
There are rumours that the Italian’s future at The Amex is uncertain, and if he were to leave, it needs to be seen whether Brighton will still try to extend Fati’s loan deal.
