Brighton & Hove Albion are in the picture to sign Royal Antwerp’s Mahamadou Doumbia in the summer window.

The 20-year-old left FC Nordsjælland’s academy to join the Belgian club in 2023. He’s made 35 appearances for their first team so far, 21 are from this season, scoring three goals in the process.

Africa Foot state the midfielder is having the ‘best season of his career’ and has attracted interest of Brighton and others.

The Mali-born youngster is on the agenda of several clubs and the report focuses on the Seagulls and Napoli.

These two teams are ‘really interested’ in securing Doumbia’s services at the end of this season. The outlet claims he’s been compared to Manchester City legend Yaya Touré.

Brighton and the Naples club are keen, and the report states both have sent their scouts to Belgium on several occasions to watch him closely in action for the Jupiler Pro League side.

Africa Foot also mention Galatasaray, Arsenal and Everton are also keeping an eye on the player.

Doumbia’s contract lasts until 2027 and Transfermarkt currently value him at €5m. There is no mention of his future plans in the report.
