Yesterday, we covered quotes from journalist Valter De Maggio, who mentioned that Napoli will be able to sign Brighton’s Billy Gilmour once they sell Jens Cajuste but no fee for the move was suggested. There is now an important update in Napoli’s chase for the Brighton man.

La Gazzetta dello Sport today state that Napoli’s first offer was €10m and there is a suggestion about what the next offer should look like, if the player is to be sold.

The Partenopei would offer Brighton between €12m and €15m in their next bid.

In the meantime, Gilmour has ‘asked’ to be sold and is quite keen on playing under Antonio Conte next season. He is interested in starting a new adventure away from Brighton and sees Napoli as his next destination.

The player’s ‘yes’ is already on the table but more than that, the report mentions that the move is a ‘matter of time’.

Napoli are only waiting for the sales of Cajuste and Gianluca Gaetano to be defined and after that, they will have the finances to make the key attempt for Gilmour.

Whether Brighton would actually accept €12-15m is very questionable.
