On April 27th, Il Mattino explained that Brighton & Hove Albion have ‘tested the waters’ for Salernitana’s Loum Tchaouna.
The forward joined the Serie A side on a free transfer last summer, and has scored six goals and registered four assists from 32 games this season.
Salernitana have already been relegated from the Serie A and Brighton or any other clubs can sign him for a reasonable deal in the next window.
That’s according to a fresh report from Il Mattino, relayed by Salernitana News, who state the Seagulls, Anderlecht, Ajax, Atalanta and Torino have included the 20-year-old in their target list.
When Tchaouna joined the Italian club, his agent included an €8m release clause that will be activated upon their relegation. Although it was a free transfer, Rennes will receive 40% of the fee from his future sale.
The clause has been activated and La Dea are following the player with great interest, and are joined by Brighton, Anderlecht, Ajax and Torino in the transfer race.
With several interested parties, it’s claimed Salernitana are hoping for an auction, so that they can earn more than €8m.
Brighton are interested, but whether they are willing to offer more than €8m for the player isn’t mentioned in the report.
