On July 17th, Italian journalist Alfredo Pedullà reported Fiorentina’s Igor Julio could join Brighton & Hove Albion on Monday.
That didn’t happen but it doesn’t mean the Seagulls aren’t closing in on a deal for the centre-back. FirenzeViola.it now provide more updates on this case.
It’s claimed Brighton have ‘resolved the final details’ of the contract with the 25-year-old and now have to find an agreement with the Serie A side to conclude the operation.
To do this, there’s still distance between the two clubs on valuation, because the Italian club remain firm with their asking price. The website doesn’t specify the fee requested by Fiorentina.
Despite this, the report adds all parties are optimistic the Brazilian will move to The Amex this summer. They say these are ‘very hot hours’ for Roberto De Zerbi’s side to acquire Igor’s services.
Another report from the same website states Igor, who has started training with the club, is now ‘waiting for news’ on his move to the Premier League side.
FirenzeViola.it have also had a chat with agent and intermediary, Lorenzo De Santis, and was asked him about the South American’s ‘imminent’ move to Brighton.
“When an English club enters a negotiation, the figures rise,” he said.
