Brighton & Hove Albion have ‘concrete interest’ in PSV Eindhoven’s Olivier Boscagli.
That’s according to Voetbal International, who state that Brighton have taken advantage of his contract situation to try and sign him this summer.
The centre-back is a ‘driving force’ at the Dutch club. With less than a year left on his deal, PSV have already offered him a new contract.
Boscagli hasn’t responded to the renewal proposal so far and Brighton have made an offer to secure his services.
VI make no mention of the fee offered by the Seagulls, but they do make it clear the Eredivisie winners have rejected it. They aren’t clear whether Brighton plan to return with an improved offer.
Eindhovens Dagblad, relayed by Voetbal Zone, also claim PSV have immediately rejected the Premier League side’s opening bid for the Frenchman.
They also make no mention about the fee proposed by Fabian Hürzeler’s side, but sources close to the club have told them it was nowhere near enough for them to take seriously.
PSV’s desire is to tie him down to a new contract. If the defender wants to leave in this window, ED say they will ask for ‘several tens of millions’.
As well as Brighton, Galatasaray and Beşiktaş are looking at Boscagli. Beşiktaş are willing to offer a fee between €10m and €15m, but PSV deem this to be ‘too little’.
