Brighton and Hove Albion are more than willing to let Pascal Groß run down his contract and leave on a free next year if a deal isn’t agreed with Borussia Dortmund this summer.
That’s according to BILD, who say the Germans continue to negotiate for Groß but face a struggle in negotiations with Brighton.
Groß has been linked with a move to Dortmund for much of the summer so far, with several reports making it clear that he is keen on the switch and the Champions League finalists have pushed ahead of Eintracht Frankfurt to get him.
It was believed that there was a deal there to be done as Groß is in the final year of his deal so it would make sense for the Seagulls to sell now.
BILD explain there is currently a €2m difference in the valuations the clubs have put on the midfielder, with Brighton wanting over €10m for their player and Dortmund only wanting to offer €8m.
Groß wants to make the move, but Brighton aren’t budging and would have no problem with Groß entering the final year of his contract and then leaving on a free transfer next summer.
Thus, it seems the onus is on Dortmund to up their bid, otherwise Groß will be remaining where he is this summer.
