Brighton and Hove Albion’s Diego Gómez held a meeting with Paraguay manager Gustavo Alfaro this week that lasted for well over three hours.

That’s according to Versus, who also say that Alfaro will be in attendance for Brighton’s clash with Bournemouth on Tuesday evening.

They report that the Brighton man received the national coach on Monday evening, as part of the Paraguay manager’s ‘tour’ that he is currently undertaking with his staff.

He’s meeting with various Albirroja players, and was pictured with Brighton’s Julio Enciso, who is currently on loan at Ipswich, over the weekend.

Gómez is the latest on the list and he ‘had a long chat’ with the midfielder, who is likely to be one of the key players in his team for the next international break in March.

Naturally the nature of the chat hasn’t been divulged but we’re sure that the 21-year-old’s lack of minutes since a €13m move from Inter Miami at the beginning of January was a topic of discussion.

Alfaro is set to remain in England for the time being and will attend Brighton vs Bournemouth on Tuesday evening, naturally hoping to see Gómez in action ahead of the next international break.
