Brighton and Hove Albion defender Igor Julio has given his preference to Real Sociedad this summer, and there is hope a deal will pick up pace this week.
That’s according to AS, who reports that Julio is prioritising a move to Sociedad despite interest from Premier League clubs such as Leeds, Wolves and Crystal Palace.
The newspaper explains that with the transfer window now officially open, Real Sociedad are planning to step up their efforts to strengthen their squad.
Julio is on their list of targets and, fortunately for the Spanish side, is ‘very seduced’ by the idea of playing for the txuri-urdin this season.
He already has an agreement in place with them and Real Sociedad have now reached an understanding with Brighton as well. The deal is by no means finalised, though.
It is expected that this week will see the operation move forwards and it won’t take long for Brighton and Real Sociedad to find a full agreement and the Seagulls give the green light to the Brazilian’s departure.
Julio, for his part, has given Sociedad his priority and is waiting for an agreement to be struck so he can head to Spain.
