Following a small saga, it seems Brighton & Hove Albion have accepted to release Facundo Buonanotte for the U-20 World Cup.
The news, of course, comes from Argentina, where journalists German Garcia Grova and Gaston Edul report the decision.
Grova claims that Buonanotte ‘pressed’ Brighton to get his release, and the Seagulls gave in, and he will now be joining the squad between the 10th and 11th of May.
At the weekend, the reporter had already claimed there was some little hope about his release, since the youngster had spoken to Roberto Ze Derbi about it.
Now Gaston Edul also claims that Buonanotte’s release is ‘confirmed’, with Brighton giving the permit for his travel.
It’s said the player ‘made a big effort’ when speaking to De Zerbi and his insistence is the reason why the club are letting him go.
The Argentine media had indeed been claiming that it was the manager who didn’t want the youngster to make the trip.
Now Buonanotte should miss the final five fixtures the Seagulls have in the Premier League, despite joining the Argentine team nearly when the tournament starts.
