Leicester City and Wolverhampton Wanderers have joined Brighton & Hove Albion in the chase for Feyenoord star Orkun Kökçü.
Earlier claims stated the midfielder and the Eredivisie side are aware of the Seagulls’ interest in him. He has starred for his side this season, managing 12 goals and four assists from 39 games.
The Turkey international’s fine displays have aroused ‘enormous’ interest from other clubs, according to De Telegraaf. Brighton, Leicester and Wolves are included in the list.
It’s claimed clubs from England and across Europe have sent their scouts and directors to watch the 22-year-old. Feyenoord are well aware of the clubs that are following him, but haven’t carried out any negotiations so far.
Brighton, Leicester and Wolves all have Kökçü ‘in mind’ for the next window. The trio are joined by Benfica, Borussia Dortmund, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United.
Feyenoord are already expecting an offer will arrive for the player that can break the ‘record amount’ set by Luis Sinisterra last summer. Leeds paid €30m plus bonuses for the Colombian in 2022.
In other words, Brighton, Leicester and Wolves must pay more than €30m if they want to sign Kökçü. With several clubs chasing him, it’s no surprise to see Feyenoord are aiming to collect a club ‘record amount’ from his sale in the summer.
