The Billy Gilmour transfer situation now seems to be nearing an end.
Gianluca di Marzio had reported late last night that Napoli are ‘one step away’ from sealing their move for the player and the expectation was that they would reach an agreement with Brighton today.
Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna flew into London yesterday and the report went on to state that there’s set to be a key meeting with Brighton on Wednesday.
In the meantime, La Gazzetta dello Sport have gone a step forward.
They report, as relayed by CalcioNapoli24, that the two clubs have essentially ‘reached’ an agreement for Gilmour’s transfer.
That isn’t to say that the deal is done but there seems to be a verbal agreement between the two clubs regarding how much Napoli will pay.
The deal is ‘imminent’ and would be done at around €12m.
Once again, it’s worth pointing out that figure seems too low, and it’s uncharacteristic of Brighton to offer such a discount when selling a player.
