Premier League trio Everton, Brighton and Nottingham Forest could all be handed a new opportunity to sign Juventus youngster Samuel Iling Junior.
That’s at least according to Gazzetta dello Sport, who say the 19-year-old is on Juventus’ sale list as they look to raise funds for Domenico Berardi.
The newspaper explains that Juventus are determined to raise funds for a move for Berardi in the January transfer window and Iling-Junior tops their list of potential sales.
He’s found himself out of favour this season and they are aware that he has ‘several admirers’ in the Premier League at this moment in time.
That’s music to Juventus’ ears as they know Premier League clubs have no problem ‘writing out checks’ for €15-20m, a figure they would gladly accept, particularly as Andrea Cambiaso has exploded this season and pushed Iling-Junior out of favour.
GDS don’t name specific clubs in England who would be interested in the winger, but we know from the last few months that Brighton, Everton and Nottingham Forest were linked the most.
The last of those reports came in May, when it was stated, they had put money on the table in an attempt to get a deal done. That obviously never happened but it’s easy to imagine their interest has not gone away.
Everton, meanwhile, were first linked back in February this year when it was claimed they could make a real lunge to try and sign Iling-Junior from Juventus.
That was followed by several reports across the summer as they tried to rebuild their squad and a report in July stated that they were willing to make a concrete offer for the player.
Nottingham Forest were the last to join the apparent party, first showing an interest in August, before eventually signings Anthony Elanga from Manchester United.
Whether that means they wouldn’t be interested anymore is up for debate but given the summer interest, it wouldn’t be surprising to see them linked alongside Everton and Brighton with Juventus now keen to sell.
