On Tuesday, things escalated very quickly in Brentford FC’s pursuit of Kevin Schade, currently contracted to SC Freiburg.
The Bees have been after the 21-year-old for quite some time now, but everything seemingly accelerated in the past 24 hours when Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg revealed a medical was already done and a deal was all but agreed.
A few details were missing, but the gist of it was that Brentford were going to welcome the winger on a loan with an obligation to buy of around €25m.
This was seen as a huge deal for the Bundesliga side, and Plettenberg has now provided an update, taking to Twitter to give it.
News #Schade: Announcement this afternoon! Player arrived Brentford last night. One of the fast players in the Bundesliga with the highest bouncing power. #BrentfordFC @SkySportDE 🇩🇪 https://t.co/Ygm5ekBPS5

He says an announcement from Brentford regarding the transfer is expected ‘this afternoon’, and the player arrived in England ‘last night’ to complete the deal.
Despite the high fee, Schade hasn’t featured all that much for the German club this season, mostly coming off the bench in the Bundesliga, where he has started just one game.
That hasn’t stopped Thomas Frank and co. of moving for him, though, and they appear very convinced that he has everything needed to help them in the Premier League going forward.
