Brentford are in talks with Burnley star Zian Flemming over a potential move to remain in the Premier League this summer.

Voetbal International report that the 27-year-old striker has attracted ‘serious interest’ from Brentford thanks to his performances for Burnley this season.

Brentford show serious interest

The newspaper reports that Brentford are keen to keep the Dutchman in the Premier League if they can. However, a transfer within England is by no means a certainty. The striker is considering options outside of England too.

Zian Flemming was undoubtedly Burnley’s best player in the Premier League this season despite their eventual relegation.

With a tally of 11 goals in the Premier League, he was a ray of hope for the relegated Clarets. And his performances have not gone unnoticed.

Burnley would like to keep him, but sources have confirmed to Voetbal International that Brentford have already shown serious interest. Other Premier League clubs have inquired about the Burnley striker as well.

Burnley striker looks around

But it is no certain that he will choose Brentford. Nor is it certain that he will opt for a longer spell in the Premier League. Flemming has interest from clubs in the other top five leagues in Europe. He is not fixated solely on the Premier League.

He is, instead, focused on finding the sporting challenge that appeals to him most. If a club in Europe can offer him the chance of European football at any level, his choice may well be to avoid a return to the Premier League.

Brentford, therefore, are in the running. But they are far from having won the race to sign Burnley’s top goalscorer either. In fact, it seems that they need to start the charm offensive for the Dutch striker. He does not appear wholly convinced about staying in the Premier League this summer, despite his success with Burnley this season.
