Brentford striker Halil Dervisoglu seems to be taking the final steps to complete his move out of the club.
The latest updates on his situation come from Turkish journalist Gokmen Ozcan, who says the player is already in Istanbul to sign for Besiktas.
With not many details about the transaction, the report claims Brentford will be getting 25% of any future transfer Dervisoglu completes.
It’s actually likely that Besiktas aren’t even paying for the transfer. That was always their intention, as revealed by their director Ceyhun Kazanci when speaking to the local media this week.
Brentford were said to be demanding a €2m fee for the exit, but now it sounds like they couldn’t get that.
Dervisoglu wasn’t expected to be part of the Bees’ plans for the future, and that’s why it was recently claimed that he wanted to have his departure sorted out ‘as soon as possible’.
The striker spent the last few seasons on loan. First at FC Twente, then at Galatasaray and finally Burnley. That’s why it was hard to convince Besiktas he was worth a big investment.
