Brentford and Atlético Madrid are showing interest in Getafe star Christantus Uche, according to Africa Foot.
The forward left AD Ceuta FC for the La Liga club in February 2024 and has been one of their standout players this season. He’s managed four goals and six assists from 33 league games while operating as a striker or an attacking midfielder.
Uche was directly involved in close to 30% of goals scored [34] by Getafe in the league this season. He played a key role in helping the club avoid relegation and caught the attention of Brentford and Atlético.
Los Rojiblancos already looked at the 22-year-old in the winter market and are back in the mix for him. The report states they have started discussions with their La Liga counterpart over a potential deal for Uche.
Brentford are ‘in the running’ to sign the Nigeria international and in recent weeks, they sent their emissaries to Getafe to monitor his performances closely. The Bees seem to be anticipating Bryan Mbeumo’s departure and therefore, are keen on signing Uche.
His contract lasts until 2028, with an option for another year. Getafe don’t intend to sell their star for ‘less than €20m’ in the upcoming window.
