Brentford have closely followed Palmeiras youngster Luís Guilherme, according to a report from Brazil.

The 18-year-old is a product of the club’s youth system and made his way into their first team in 2023. Since then, he’s made 43 appearances, mainly as a substitute, managing a goal and an assist in the process.

Guilherme has aroused interest from several clubs and Brentford are now added to the list. That’s according to Nosso Palestra, who state the Bees are ‘interested in signing’ him in the summer window.

It’s further claimed Thomas Frank’s side have have also contacted the Brazilian club. They haven’t tabled a bid yet, but are ‘considering making an offer’ for the teenager’s services.

Brentford made an approach to Palmeiras, to understand Guilherme’s situation, before proceeding with a possible proposal.

The attacker’s deal lasts until 2026 and the report says it includes a €55m release clause. They make no mention of the fee Brentford are considering offering and it’s unlikely that they would come close to his buyout clause.

Guilherme turned 18 years of age earlier this year and can move to Europe immediately, if Brentford were to agree a deal with Palmeiras.
