Over the past few months, Brentford have consistently been mentioned as a candidate to land Genoa’s Morten Frendrup.

Some days ago, it was reported that the Bees have scouted the midfielder multiple times and have been one of the first clubs to actually make a concrete move for him.

More about the Dane has now emerged and Calciomercato’s Daniele Longo has reported that Frendrup will leave Genoa in the summer.

This is his last season in Rossoblu colours and Brentford have been working on signing him for many months now.

As a result, they have gained a certain pole position for the player and there is a chance of them closing a move quickly at the end of the season.

Having said that, a major threat is posed by AC Milan. That is because the player prefers a move to the Italian giants and it could determine where he ends up in the summer.

Milan are also interested in Frendrup and things can become risky for Brentford, if the Rossoneri really end up making their move for the 24-year-old. Milan will make a decision regarding an approach soon.
