Brentford and Fulham are suddenly thrown into the battle for Benfica striker Petar Musa.

The news comes from Portugal, where newspaper Record explains the ‘very busy auction’ there is to sign the player this month.

It’s claimed that while Bologna, Genoa and Lille continue to fight for his signing, Brentford and Fulham ‘could enter the race’ for him.

The outlet claims the Bees and Whites have Musa as a target, even though it sounds like they haven’t made their moves yet.

It’s said that all those clubs are interested in signing Musa on a loan deal, with that possibly including an option to buy.

Benfica aren’t in a hurry to let him go, and will watch the battle as that should turn into an auction.

Musa has six goals and two assists in 24 appearances for Benfica this season, and is set to lose space in the team following the arrival of Marcos Leonardo from Brazil.

Both Brentford and Fulham interest in him seems to be completely new, and we’ll see whether they’ll present their offers in the coming days.
