In what would be a surprising move for all involved, Brentford are interested in bringing back Saïd Benrahma to the club.
This is according to Foot Mercato in France, who claim that the Bees are one of a few clubs who are interested in the Algeria international, who has struggled to find consistent game time this season at his current club.
Brentford, who have fond memories of the player from his two year stint at the club before his €27m (loan fee and permanent transfer clause combined) move to East London in 2021, seem interested in helping him out, and have made their first move.
According to journalist Santi Aouna on X, presenting the article, Brentford have added the player to their ‘winger list’ for January, and contacts even ‘took place with his entourage’.
It’s said in the report itself the Bees are ‘very hot’ in their idea of getting him as early as January, and the amount asked by the London club ‘shouldn’t put them off’.
Prior to his move to West Ham, the winger had scored 30 goals and assisted another 27 in 94 games for Brentford, before going on to find the back of the net 24 times for David Moyes’ side in 154 appearances, as well as picking up 19 assists.
