For a couple of seasons, Danilo was a Manchester City player before he was sold to Juventus in 2019, with Joao Cancelo going the other way.
Bought from Real Madrid in 2017, the Brazilian played under Pep Guardiola during those two campaigns at the Etihad, during which he won two Premier Leagues.
He scored four goals and assisted another three in 60 appearances, being played a bit all over the park by the Spanish manager, from whom he learned a lot.
Danilo gave an interview to DAZN where he admitted as much, speaking about Guardiola and his time in Manchester among other things.
Relayed by Il Bianconero, he said: “I liked life (in England). I did everything, often on foot. Every now and then, people would say: “You are Danilo!”, and I would reply “yes, can I have a coffee?” People think that footballers only lead a particular life, but I really like being down to earth.”
He added: “The players who are lucky enough to work with Guardiola, if they are intelligent and take advantage of it, it is as if they were taking a coaching course.”
His time at Juventus since leaving Manchester City hasn’t been quite as successful, however, as he has only managed to win a Coppa Italia and an Italian Super Cup during his time there.
