Manchester City are in advanced negotiations for the signing of Grêmio youngster Diego Rosa, according to reports from Brazil last night.
Several reliable outlets have been reporting the talks for the 17-year-old, so let’s take the highlights of what each one is saying.
The first one to bring the news were UOL. They said Grêmio responded to Manchester City’s ‘first attempt’ and there’s ‘optimism’ that a deal could happen, even though the Brazilian side officially denied that there are any negotiations.
Globo Esporte’s report came right after that, and their story was a lot stronger. They say there was a verbal agreement for Diego Rosa’s move, and the clubs now only need to sign it.
It’s claimed that the deal should be made for around €10m, and that price can go up depending on performance bonuses. Grêmio only have 60% of the players rights, while the other 40% goes to his former club Vitória.
Diego Rosa is only turning 18 in mid October, which means he can only be registered by Manchester City in the January transfer window.
Zero Hora is another one who brought an interesting report. They claim that the negotiations have been going on for a month, and only this week the clubs found a deal.
They confirm that the deal will initially cost Manchester City €10m, and claim that Grêmio will keep a percentage of a future transfer.
