With Arsenal and Juventus fighting hard for the signing of Manuel Locatelli from Sassuolo, we’ve been getting entertaining updates from the Italian media lately.
It was first claimed that the midfielder has been ghosting the Gunners who, despite making a good bid for the move, haven’t been able to discuss personal terms with him yet.
Reports say his preference is to join the Old Lady, but still, it’s also been claimed today that Arsenal ‘don’t give up’ on the signing and are the only club who made a ‘serious offer’ for his transfer.
Now despite the big effort made by the London side, we’re back on seeing negative updates from the Italian media today, as it’s now claimed that the player turned their offer down.
The quotes come from journalist Paolo Bargiggia, who on 1 Station Radio show Il Sogno nel Cuore, claimed that Juventus are now close on winning the race for the 23-year-old.
“Juventus will take him for sure. The boy said no to Arsenal,” said Bargiggia (via Juventus News 24).
“The formula is complex: Juve are doing everything not to take him under the obligation of redemption, while Sassuolo push. There’s talk of a €40m operation. Eventually, it will do: one way or another.”
